THE NEW COMPACT NEX FLOWTM STREAM VACTM Dust Collection and Fume Extraction system

The versatile and affordable compact air cleaning system is ideal for the removal of fumes, dust and other air pollution from  work stations without the need for heavy and bulky machinery.

The Nex FlowTM  Stream Vac TM is an in line air conveyor that  when hooked up to a 2” hose and connected to a compressed air line, it will remove up to several hundred cubic feet of air while using only a minimal amount of compressed air, taking with it welding fumes, soldering fumes, particulate from local grinding operations, smoke and particulate from almost any “spot” application.

A safe and improved healthy condition in the workplace improves employee morale, increases worker productivity, decreases absenteeism and even reduces insurance costs in many cases. A cleaner environment can even enhance the performance of machinery and sometimes cut maintenance costs.  However, until now there was no low cost solution to enhance the environment.

The low cost, compact and portable unit operates utilizing a minimal amount of compressed air.

The Nex FlowTM  Stream Vac TM comes with a magnetic stand to “plug into position” on any magnet accepting metal surface.  Simply connect the snap – on collection attachments and clamp a 2” hose on the opposite side, hook up your compressed air and you are set to go. Comes complete with shut-off valve.
This compact Air Cleaning, Dust and Fume Extraction unit is designed to handle small and spot area applications. Portable, low cost with zero maintenance!

The Nex Flow™ Safety Mini Air Jet offers Efficiency for blow off in a tight space.

Air Jets are larger than nozzles and used when a wider area needs to be targeted with amplified air.

Nex FlowTM offers three variations of air jets – a High Force unit (Model 45002), as High Flow model (Model 45001) and is the only company offering a “Mini Air Jet” (Model 45003).
The Mini Air Jet is used in place of a nozzle when more than a “point” force is required.  The Air Jet has a 1/8” hole to make a focused, high force jet of amplified airflow for blow off.  The flow pattern spreads out slightly to provide a larger surface area blow off than with a nozzle.
This can provide better directional guidance in such applications as part ejection.  This can often replace “pairs” of nozzles, which are used to give a controlled direction for a part being ejected.
The Mini Air Jet is Compact To Fit Into Tight Spots

Nex FlowTM air jets are adjustable with their gap setting to set the force you need for a particular application.  A lock ring “locks” the gap in place to maintain the security of the gap setting.  Nex FlowTM air jets are made of lightweight anodized aluminum and have a 1/8” NPT connection.

The Nex Flow™ Side Mount and Muffling for Frigid-X™ Panel Coolers for Electrical and Electronic Cabinet Enclosure Cooling.

The Nex FlowTM  Frigid-XTM  Panel Cooler with Side Mount allows their use on the side of an Electrical or Electronic Enclosure when there is no room on the top and still maintain NEMA or IP standard integrity.
This has been an excellent season for Nex FlowTM  Frigid-XTM  Panel Coolers with the heat wave experienced in many parts of the world. Our Nex FlowTM  Frigid-XTM  Panel Coolers utilize a vortex tube to create cold air from regular compressed air for air conditioning electrical and electronic control panels.  Essentially maintenance free. these units cool and keep clean all types of control panel and electrical-electronic cabinet enclosures.  UL and ULC approved and CE compliant with NEMA 12 (IP-52), NEMA 3R (IP 14) and NEMA 4-4X (IP-56) versions.
Normally these units are mounted on the top of control panels.  However in some cases there may not be room on the top so an alternative method was created to mount these units on the side, but near the top of cabinets.
The Nex FlowTM  Frigid-XTM  Panel Cooler Side Mount is available for all ranges of our coolers and are made of stainless steel (like our coolers).  They are “plug and play” in that you only need to cut a standard electrical knockout in the side of the panel, thread in the Side Mount, thread the Panel Cooler onto the Side Mount, and install the hose kit, hook up the rest of the Panel Cooler assembly and you are ready to cool!
“When there is little or no room on the to of a control panel the side mount is an easy to use attachment to the
Nex FlowTM Frigid-XTM  Panel Coolers”
Nex FlowTM Frigid-XTM  Panel Coolers are already low in noise level compared to many competitive units but for extra silencing a Cold End Muffler Kit can be added to reduce the sound level by as much as 5 dBA more!
The Cold End Muffling Kit is attached to the cold end of the Panel Cooler using either a straight or 90 degree elbow connection –all included in the kit.In Summary – To quietly cool, and keep clean you electrical control panels with little or no maintenance,  even if there is little room at the top of the electrical cabinet enclosure, consider the  Nex FlowTM Frigid-XTM  Panel Cooler with Side Mount and Cold End Muffling Kit.

Many Air Gun Suppliers do not have very energy efficient nozzles and some may not even be safe.  All Nex Flow™ air guns utilize energy efficient nozzles and meet OSHA guidelines for safety. Any compressed air gun from Nex Flow™ is safe to use, low in noise levels and energy efficient.

The Nex Flow™ Frigid-X™ Mini Spot Cooler for Small Spot Cooling Applications

The Nex Flow Frigid-X  Mini Spot Cooler  is a packaged small capacity vortex tube.
A vortex tube is a device that was invented by George Ranque in 1928 by accident.  In 1945 that Rudolph Hilsch published a famous paper on the vortex tube which popularized the device.  James Maxwell once postulated that we would someday be able to get the help of a “friendly little demon” to get hot and cold air from the same device who would sort the hot and cold molecules of air. With such history, the vortex tube has come to be known by several names:  Maxwell’s Demon tube, the Hilsch tube and the Ranque vortex tube.
How it Works and Applications
A Vortex Tube is normally designed to work with a standard compressed air supply. Air enters the vortex tube and is “spun” utilizing a par called a “generator” which creates the internal “vortex  up inside the vortex tube.  Then the air spins back inside the first vortex of spinning air. This causes an energy transfer and this literally splits the air flow into two parts – cold air which exhausts at one end, and hot air which is removed at the other end – all without any moving parts.
The Nex Flow Frigid-X  Mini Spot CoolerFrigid-X™ Mini Spot Cooler  is preset for optimum cooling efficiency to produce optimum flow and temperature drop to about 20 degrees F
( -7 degrees C)  depending on inlet compressed air temperature.
The unit comes complete with a stand and single point hose kit so it can be mounted easily to any magnetic surface and the cold air directed to the exact point of use.  Already quite at about 76 dBA, an optional cold end muffler can reduce the noise a further 5 dBA for extra-quiet operation.
The Nex Flow Frigid-X  Mini Spot Cooler  is very effective in preventing melting, burning and breakage on high speed operations.  Ideal for small drilling, slotting, routing and many other applications.  Specific uses include small tool cooling, solder cooling, grinding of lenses, cooling blades, setting thermostats, small camera cooling, and needle cooling in heavy sewing operations.

Nex Flow™ Static Control with Air Knives – Truth verses Fantasy

REALITY
Nex Flow™  combines its Silent X-stream Air Blade air knife and its Standard Air Blade air knife with an ionizing bar (also referred to as a static bar or anti-static bar) in order to remove static at a distance from a charged surface and also to clean charged surfaces of dirt and particulate.
You may have seen claims of some companies to remove static charge from 20 feet away utilizing static bars with air knives.   The truth is, removing static charge depends on several factors – the  size of the charge, the distance from the static bar and the strength of the static bar.
An air knife system may indeed remove a static charge from 20 feet away but it will take some time.
We have had to often replace equipment from companies making such claims on machines when the customer realizes that the system just doesn’t remove the charge for the limited exposure time it has to the static bar and air knife.
If fact, even a static bar “alone” can remove static charge from 20 feet away given enough time – but “time” is the key word here. On fast moving machines, available time can be in milliseconds.

The Silent X-Stream Air Blade Ionizer is quiet, efficient in air use and effective – can use either a standard strength static bar or extra strong static bar

Here is basically how AC static eliminators work with air knives.  (There are DC type static eliminators as well but normally AC static eliminators are used with air knives). Static bars “ionize” the air utilizing a corona effect at the pins along the static bar.  They create positive and negative “ions”.
The negative ions created cancel out the positive charge on a charged surface and the positive ions cancel out the negative charge on a charged surface. It takes time for the ions to migrate to the surface so the amount of “ions” and the “exposure time to the ions” is important. When an air knife is utilized it “pushes” the “ions” toward the charged surface.
As the ions are pushed, even with the laminar flow of the air knife, some ions recombine actually reducing the strength of the static bar the further the surface is away from the static bar.  The laminar flow minimizes this ion recombination effect but it still happens.  For fast moving webs, or sheet fed operations that can generate significant charges on material, an air knife with a regular static bar will rarely have the strength to remove static charge because the exposure time is not adequate.
In such cases and extra strong static bar can be used with an air knife to increase the amount of ions hitting the charged target to remove the static.
Nex Flow™  has such an extra strong static bar (the triple X) bar with produces significantly more ions than a normal static bar. In fact, the bar alone without an air knife will remove static at 4” or more from the target on applications such as at slitters where you cannot get close.
Combined with an air knife, this static bar can do the job at much greater distances in a reasonable amount of time where the traditional static bar fails and in fact eliminate the static on fast moving webs, or sheet fed operations with high static charge.
It can even eliminate static charges at 20 feet away in a reasonable amount of time!
Again, the key is phrase is “reasonable amount of time”.
As for cleaning a charged surface, the air knife and static bar combination is still an excellent solution – the single most common application for using an air knife and static bar combination.
The higher the charge on the surface and the faster the speed, the stronger the static bar needs to be.  For slower speeds a regular static bar and air knife combination is typically adequate.
HOW DO I KNOW ITS WORKING?
One of the key questions we get is “how do I know if the static bar is working?”  AC testers (sometimes at inflated prices) have sometimes been promoted to check if static bars are working.  However, these AC testers are misleading.
They only indicate if there is power going through the static bars.  It does not indicate if they are working properly at all!
A static bar requires 3600 volts (at very low current of course) at the pins located on the static bar to generate the “corona” which creates the ions that do the job of removing static charge.
This voltage can be easily measured qualitatively with something like our Multicheck which indicates if there is adequate voltage at the pins.
(A light turns green if the voltage is adequate.)  The voltage, if too low can be from a bad static bar, or power supply or may simply be dirty and cleaning can bring the voltage back up to normal.
The Multicheck is a low cost device to accurately indicate of a static bar is working.

Multicheck Model 80301

The Low Cost Multicheck Provides a Qualitative Check to make sure the static bars and power supplies are working.

A static meter of course tests the real effectiveness of the static removal system and can pinpoint where the static charge is the highest and also indicates where the charge can come back once it is removed.
The Multicheck is a “must have” low cost device.  A static meter is a more costly option depending on how critical the static charge can be to your operation, and it will give a quantitative assessment of your static problem and evaluate the effectiveness of your solution.

A Static Meter provides a Quantitative Assessment of the static problem and effectiveness of the solution.

Nex Flow™  has extensive experience in static control and can answer your questions and address applications realistically and honestly.  Not every application needs an air knife with the static bar.  But some applications can use a stronger static bar for a more effective solution.

Nex flow™ New Adjustable Air Amplifiers

The New Adjustable Air Amplifiers with Gauge Markings from Nex Flow™ indicate with accuracy the actual air gap used when in operation. The gap can be set from 0 to 1.5 mm providing the greatest control of compressed air use.

Air Amplifiers amplify “air flow” significantly by utilizing the “Coanda” effect. A small amount of compressed air exists the small gap which you control with the marked settings. Air is entrained into the amplifier “converting” pressure to high flow with minimal energy loss. Air flow can be amplified up to 16 times at the exit with little energy loss, and very low noise levels.

A high velocity of the flow is maintained to provide excellent energy for blow-off, drying and cooling. Because of the high entrainment, Nex Flow™ Air Amplifiers are ideal for venting of fumes, dust and light materials.

Available in two sizes: 1-1/4” and 2” outlet in anodized aluminum.

Applications include the following:

1.    Blow off contamination and dust from surfaces

2.    Cooling of hot materials, forgings

3.    Wipe wet surfaces

4.    Drying all types of shapes

5.    Venting of fumes, dust and light material conveying

The Nex Flow™ Air Amplifier has proven to be of high quality, high performance and with low noise levels. Its anodized aluminum body withstands the plant environment longer than often non-anodized competitive models.

Introducing The Nex Flow™ X-Stream™ Liquid Super Separator

The Nex Flow™ X-Stream™ Liquid Super Separator uses a world patent pending special radial nozzle centrifugal design to remove 99.9% of liquid mist (including water and oil mist) without the need of a replaceable filter element. Standard sizes are 9, 22, and 64 SCFM.

Unlike large upstream separators, these units are designed to be used upstream from an air gun, blow-off product or any device using compressed air and may be used in place of a standard air filter. If micron size is a concern, you can still use a standard water or oil filter but the replaceable cartridge life will be dramatically extended as the X-Stream™ Liquid Super Separator will remove the vast majority of the liquids and mist.

Units come complete with an automatic drain, have extremely minimal pressure loss and are virtually maintenance free. (Only the automatic drain may be subject to wear and tear and is easily replaced.)

Despite the use of driers at the compressor location, there can often still be condensation and moisture entrainment into air lines downstream of the compressor causing havoc with cylinders, solenoid valves, tooling and blow-off and other pneumatically operated equipment. Traditional filters normally used can sometimes be overloaded requiring frequent replacement of cartridges – a maintenance and downtime cost.

The Nex Flow™  Liquid Super Separator is placed upstream from the point of use and upstream from existing filters to remove the moisture and particulate. Existing filters may be replaced or simply kept in place for extra security but the life span of their cartridges can be extended four to five times or more.

We are so confident of the Nex Flow™ Super Separator we offer a five year warranty.

Available in three capacities: 9 SCFM, 22 SCFM and 64 SCFM. Units may be installed in parallel to address different requirements as necessary.
