Nex Flow Goes To The Movies!!!

The Nex Flow Air Knives and Air Amplifiers have found many uses in the special effects industry for movies, television shows and theater.

The very same 8” air amplifiers (Model AM125) we offer now were used in a famous scene in the X-files series to create a large volume of air to simulate one of the main characters being kidnapped by space aliens from an airplane.

The remake of the Day The Earth Stood Still used Nex Flow Standard Air Blade air knives in scenes depicting wind blowing over the grass.

One of my favorites is the use of a standard air knife in a Steven King Movie utilizing the Coanda effect to make a blast of fire from a torch turn 90 degrees simulating a wall of fire!

Recently a museum purchased adjustable air amplifiers to use in a display to blow air over model “bats” and onto people as they pass the exhibit with short blasts of amplified air.

The amplification technology simply produces a large amount of flow from the input of a small amount of compressed air. The air produced is also “laminar” in flow allowing for the desired effect to be made over a long distance.

So the next time you see a movie or television show with “blast of air” – think of Nex Flow Air Products
