The Nex Flow tm PLCFC is a unique PLC system that senses an object just as it sees a “sensor” located just before a blow-off needs to start. It then opens the air connection to an air knife, amplifier, jet or nozzle to begin the blow off operation.
It is preset to turn off two seconds after the sensor no longer sees the object.
The PLCFC is far superior to simple systems that start and then operate with a timer as the timer can easily be set incorrectly or arbitrarily changed when not supervised.
The PLCFC is plug and play. Special versions can be produced to handle multiple blow-off installations and even other operations. Flexible, and easy to use.
In the display the PLCFC controls the air use “optimally” for drying of a part on the conveyor. The sensor sees that part, turns on the air flow and two second after the part passes (not seen by the sensor) it turns off the airflow. Savings for this application ran into thousands of dollars a year in compressed air energy costs.
The customer did consider a blower system but blowers need time to start up, and to stop. They cannot be instant “on and off” like compressed air systems. With the way the parts came on the conveyor for drying, there was negligible difference in energy use using compressed air with the PLC FC compared to a blower with the added advantages of near zero maintenance, superior dying, and a compact and quiet installation. ?
